Your tour starts with a convenient pickup from either Bali or Banyuwangi, where you will get the chance to witness an awe-inspiring sunrise over Ijen Crater. If you are starting this trip from Bali, your wonderful adventure will begin in the evening with a journey to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi.
Upon your arrival at Ketapang Port, take a moment to unwind and spend some time in the lounge area before being picked up for the journey to Ijen Volcano. If you are coming from Banyuwangi, make sure to be ready for the pickup from your accommodations at 12:30 AM, setting the stage for your incredible hike towards Ijen Volcano. This hike will take around 1.5-2 hours and will absolutely mesmerize you as you witness the beautiful views around the crater.
If you are fortunate, you may catch the magical blue flames that rise from the volcano. Although this experience cannot be guaranteed, as it depends heavily on the weather conditions, it is definitely something to look forward to and a treat for any visitor. You will then witness a breathtaking sunrise over Java Island’s famous acid lake and witness the process of sulfur mining by watching the local miners; this practice, that has been going on for more than a century is an integral part of their daily life and history and a way to support and provide for their families.
Following your volcano exploration you will descend and make your way back to the parking area. If you're staying in Banyuwangi, you'll arrive at your hotel at approximately 9:00 AM. For those journeying back to Bali, expect to arrive at your accommodations in the afternoon.
