Start your day with an early morning pick-up from your accommodations in Yogyakarta and head towards directly to Borobudur Temple, or to Setumbu Hill (depending on your selected price option) where you will be fascinated by the incredible sunrise views as the daybreak casts a golden glow upon the Borobudur Temple. When the mist dissipates, you will see the sun’s light surround the nearby volcanoes and terraced fields. The Borobudur sunrise begins as the crisp air awakens and the mist gracefully dissipates allowing the sun to enfold the volcanoes and terraced fields with its warm hypnotic rays.
After this exploration is complete you will embark on a 1.5-2-hour journey to the Prambanan Temple. This ancient masterpiece requires a two hour exploration in order to immerse yourself in its history. This fascinating temple dates back to the tenth century and stands as Indonesia's most extensive temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The three temples in the complex have been adorned with Ramayana reliefs, honoring the Hindu deities Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. Additionally, you will also discover the three temples paying homage to their devoted animal companions.
